The Buckingham 10k is a beautiful, multi-terrain route, starting in Buckingham Town Centre, taking in Stowe Avenue, Stowe Landscape Gardens and farmland. It's an undulating route - plenty of small ups and downs to challenge the more hardened runner, but not big enough to deter a first timer! The route is marshalled by volunteers and the Scouts provide a fantastic water station up at the Corinthian Arch.

The run starts and finishes in Buckingham Town Centre at 9am. There will be baggage storage and toilets close to the start/finish area at Villers Hotel. Parking is available for a small charge (cash or card) at Cornwall Meadow car park in the town centre. All runners who have chosen to receive a medal for taking part and entered before the day will be handed a bespoke medal at the finish. There are prizes for first Male and Female runners, and age group awards too. Chip timing will be provided by Chip Timing Solutions.

Race Information

Race HQ & Registration:
The race HQ is in Buckingham Old Town Hall, right opposite the start of the race, on the corner of Castle Street/Bridge Street.

Registration will be open from 8am-8:45am. Nothing will be posted out, so you do need to come here and pick up your race number and chip.

Baggage

You will be able to leave bags in the room but there is NO manned baggage area, please do not leave anything valuable. There will always be someone in the room present but they are not responsible for your bags.

Parking:

There is ample payable parking at Cornwalls Meadow car park (MK18 1RP) which is a 3 minute walk to the town centre & HQ.

Toilets:

There are toilets in Cornwalls Meadow car park and at the race HQ.

Race start:

The race will start on Market Hill at 9am. It is chip timed, so your time will start as soon as you cross the mat. It makes sense for faster runners (under 40 mins) to line up at the front. The start of the course is quite narrow and the road is NOT CLOSED so it’s safer and easier for everyone if you start in approximately the right place for your pace.

The course:

The race heads up West Street before a right turn up Stowe Avenue. The road isn’t closed so watch out for traffic and do obey the marshal’s instructions. If you are asked to stop, please do so, they aren’t trying to ruin your run, just trying to keep you safe! The route then takes you along the path that runs parallel to Stowe Avenue, until approx 3k when you take a turn into Stowe Gardens for a lovely scenic loop around the gardens and farmland, then back down Stowe Avenue to the finish. There will be a water station which you’ll pass twice at approx 3k and 7k. The majority of the course is on hard paths, so road shoes should be fine.
